Patrycja Foltyniak (artistic nickname pastelowabaziaa) is a graduate of the Julian Fałat Junior High School and High School of Fine Arts in Bielsko-Biała.
A graduate of the Graphic Design at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. I completed my studies in 2020 with a diploma thesis titled “The world of the ocean - illustrated on surfboards“ (it is available in PDF version, if anyone would like to read it, please contact me). During my five-year studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, I also spent a year abroad at the ESAD - Escola Superior de Artes e Design in Caldas de Rainha, Portugal.

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I have been able to taste every field of art. It is a continuous learning process about what we still cannot do or do not see. My drawings are rich in lines, contrasting spots of black or color. I add detail to the composition by densifying it with dotting and hatching. The illustrations I create reflect my soul, an endless journey, oceanic nature, and childhood enthusiasm.

Childhood, which was a rural life among mountains and rivers, and now surrounded by dunes and the ocean. This is what leads me to create; the combination of nature and human beings. I find many answers and inspirations while contemplating sunsets, hiking in the mountains, and surfing in the ocean. Over time, new skills have been added to my drawing, which have developed me on various levels. Through drawing on surfboards, linocuts, screen printing, bookbinding, sewing, and painting. When creating, I focus on selecting materials, if it is clothing, then definitely certified organic cotton; if I sew, I often use second-hand materials; recycled or high-quality paper; old surfboards.

Art is meditation, a continuous search, but also often an answer. It is my peace and immense love.
